Meet Leslie

Hi! I'm Leslie-- affectionately referred to as "the cat lady". I was born and raised in Avoyelles parish. After a few years away from Avoyelles for college, I convinced my New Orleans born and raised husband to move home to "the parish". We are both animal lovers (cat worshipers). Bridget brought me into the rescue as a foster for dogs. It only took one litter of puppies to remind me why I'm a cat person.

My husband and I pitched the idea to start up a cat program for ARR and here we are! Three years later, lots of laughs and tears, lessons learned, and memories made. Our personal zoo includes 6 cats, a great pyrenees, 20 chickens, a rabbit, and a fish. We welcome the chaos and the snuggles. Looking forward to many more lives saved and the small part we get to play in their lives.
